Overcoming Shyness- and Shining in Your Life
As this site is about helping you reach and be at your full potential, there is no room for shyness.
The even better news is that it can be overcome.
I should know, as I came from a point of extreme shyness in some areas.
Whilst some people are shy in general, others are crippled by shyness in specific situations.
As usual, I will recount a story to you.
The Date
How many of you guys out there can relate to this one?
You fancy a girl at college, or shool, and want to go on a date.
However, after you look up her phone number, you carefully note it down, and tell yourself you will get to it later, as it’s dinner time, and she’s probably eating.
After dinner, you are watching your favourite TV show, and don’t want to interrupt it.
Then, you think, she’s robably doing her homework, and you don’t want to disturb her.
Once you finally get the courage to call, you then quickly put the phone down, after dialling the number.
Now, you’re really worried, so you make a list of all the things you want to say.
For specific precaution, you also list possible answers, and draw a flow chart, so you can quickly navigate to the right answer, and not sound like an idiot.
Does any of this resonate at all?
It sounds pathetic, but really does affect many people, in many ways.
This is just one example of how shyness can strike some people.
However, others have suffered it on many other levels, and the simple fact is that it stinks.
You’re being held back, and want to move forward.
So, we’re going to deal with this once and for all.
I have an audio file here to listen to, to reduce shyness.
There are also great books on the subject.
Either way, you need to act on this, because as funny as the story above may sound, it can also be really debilitating.
I didn’t ask a girsl out for almost three years when I was younger, because I was scared of rejection.
How stupid was that? By not asking, and not getting anywhere, I was rejecting myself. Harsh, but true.
We can all accept that the answer may be no sometimes. We will still live the next day.
I understand though, how hard this can be, as I’ve been there.
Head over to check out some great books, or audios on the subject.
