The Law of Attraction Challenge
By Duncan Sequeira

The book and DVD, 'The Secret' has had an explosive impact upon the consciousness of humanity. A runaway bestseller, the book packaged one of the several cosmic laws, in such an attractive and compelling format. This law was made palatable, even for those who might not normally be interested in the subject.

So the idea that our thoughts are important and have a huge bearing on the kinds and quality of our experiences has been given credence by millions. This DVD taught us to be less of the victim and to be more at cause in our lives. In other words, it was suggested that the thoughts we hold in our consciousness attract like people, events and objects into our lives. It is all to do with vibration. Different thoughts have different wavelengths and frequencies.

So cheerful, happy thoughts have a shorter wavelength and a faster frequency. The idea is to have thoughts that vibrate fast: at the speed of light. Luminous thoughts. It is such thoughts that create synchronicities, magical moments and beautiful relationships.

The popularity of The Secret, has opened up a huge opportunity for the future of humanity. It has created a climate that is receptive to the invisible power of thought. I see the current obsession with 'using' the law of attraction for material gain ie a new car, a new partner etc – a necessary step in the right direction.

When I did a Google search on the law of attraction, I came across a site that unashamedly bragged: 'How to apply Law of attraction to get your ex back, use it for abundance, attract your soulmate and a perfect relationship.'

Although the law of attraction can be used for personal benefit, there are huge global challenges currently facing us. Financial and environmental problems, human genocide, wars, diseases. I believe that this very law, the law of attraction or the Law of Affinity can be used to save the world.

The stage is set. Humanity on a vast scale has done the groundwork. Now the orientation needs a little tweaking. From the PERSONAL to the GLOBAL. The fact is, by working on the global we are also helping the personal. So how about using this law of attraction, to create peace on earth, to visualise and vibrate with a world in which humanity lives as one family? A world where ideas and abundance are pooled for everyone's use? This is the challenge today. The human problems we face can only be solved collectively. The power is in the people. Once we embrace this vision of a world at peace, of all countries working together for the good of all, then our politicians will be forced to change.

And it can be done. Carry on with the personal if you like, but also make room for the global. Let us create groups of people all around the world who visualise and vibrate with the notion of a peaceful world where humanity lives as one. It might sound like utopia but we don't have much choice at this stage.

It will create what the philosopher Patanjali called: 'the raincloud of knowable things'. Our impersonal, global thoughts will create a repository on the mental plane of world peace and fellowship. This raincloud of wisdom will become fuller and heavier as more of us embrace this notion. Soon it will burst.

Too utopian? But when we look at the world today, there is no doubt that we have reached a critical juncture. There is no going back. For our survival and our childrens, we are obliged to embrace a more universal future. Together we can do it. And together is the only way that we will do it.
