Is Happiness Around The Corner?

For lots of people, happiness is just around the corner. They just need to get their degree, a particular job, a promotion, or a raise. Maybe they're waiting to get married or have a child. Perhaps they will be happy when they retire.

Alfred D' Souza said, "For a long time it seemed to me that life was about to begin. But there was always some obstacle in the way, something to be gotten through first, some unfinished business, time still to be served, or a debt to be paid. Then life would begin. At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life." John Lennon put it another way, "Life is what happens while you are making other plans."

The point is our lives are happening now. If we are to get the satisfaction and fulfillment we want, we have to learn to draw pleasure and joy from everything that happens to us and around us because these experiences are the very essence of our life. The more conscious we are that life consists of the journey, not the destination, the more likely we are to get the most out of it.

So, if there are things you want to do, begin to fit them in now or accept the fact that you can be happy whether or not you do them.

Happiness isn't just around the corner. It's now or it's never.??The good news is you have everything you need to be happy. Philosophers, poets, and scientists all agree it can't be attained through money, prestige, or power. Happiness is not a fact, it's a mindset. All you need is optimism and gratitude.

Personal Challenges
By Bryan Appleton

We all have to go through personal challenges from time to time. There really seems to be no exception to this rule. Whether they are financial or family problems or relationship or careers, everyone will experience their own challenge at some point and you really have to be able to overcome these challenges if you want to make sure that you are living your life at the highest level that you can.

How you react to the situations in life that are challenging will have a lot to say about you and your character and whether or not you have what it takes to persevere and weather any storm. And remember that if you want to be able to achieve success in any area of your life, you have to be able to look at these challenges as times where you are able to grow and become stronger and not a time to shrink or run away.

CHALLENGE CAN BE A GOOD THING!

The more we are challenged in our lives, the more we get to learn about ourselves. If you never had to face any kind of situation that tested you, you would never know just where you need to make improvements or where you already are strong enough. This helps to build an all around character and this is what you need if you really want to be able to experience a life that is considered to be a success.

The hard times in our lives also help us to appreciate and show gratitude when things are more easy going, so there is something to be grateful for even if the challenges make us feel the opposite sometimes.

I’ve Heard About Facing Fear – What Does It Involve and How Can I Overcome It? It’s Important to Me to Succeed!

I think that for any person to have the courage to ask this question, the good news is that they too, have the ability to overcome their fears, and achieve even beyond their wildest dreams. It is a statement I make in a heartfelt way, given my experiences in life. Having said that, I will outline my methodical process for dealing with this situation, and hope you will gain some benefit by applying this method in your life, or parts of it to suit your situation.

In any situation where fear is felt, the first question to ask oneself is what the fear is. "What really is the most unpleasant outcome of this situation that I am worried about?" I ask this question in particular, as with a little analysis and understanding, the key can be found to resolve the root cause of the fear.

Effectively, fear is the assumption of the most terrible outcome from any given situation, after one turns the various possibilities over in their mind and reaches a forgone conclusion that the worst will happen. If this in itself was not bad enough, the person concerned will also start to worry to the point that other aspects of their life, or relationships may be affected as well. As you can see, it quickly can become a downward spiral of emotion and tension, most of it unnecessary. Please note at this point that I am fully aware of the fact this is all very easy to say, and for some people, difficult to implement.

It is at this point, that I hope to help you out. It is all about taking steps, practicing, and developing a belief, as well as a gratitude and a deeper understanding of the way the mind works. Putting this together in simpler terms, I am suggesting that when we believe something, we are more likely to attract it to ourselves as well, and this is very damaging. If we think that we will fail, we will worry about it, and be more likely to attract that failure. On the other hand by building an image of the success we want, as well as the desire to achieve all we can, we can better manage to get the results we want by visualisation, and attraction of the events that need to take place for our desired results to take place. This is where the wonderful methods of the universe step in.

It has been proven, in part by science, and continues to be measured and tested, that our thoughts are in fact electronic radio waves, that send out signals to the universe, and other people, It is really important to guard the way we think, as our thoughts influence others. Is it instant? Not necessarily, but it has been proven, and continues to be so, that our thoughts are major influencing factors to others, situations and events.

Hence, applying this to our lives, we can see that we need to always be thinking of the desired outcomes, and then work our daily tasks,a s well as being open to the rewards of the universe. I am not saying you should just sit back and relax, and pretend it will all be OK. In my experience and life, I have found that the universe rewards action, but also in such a way that is sometimes unexpected. It is important to also understand the subtle point of realising that we can have wants and desires but also to know that we can best manifest them when we are not fussed if we get them or not. When we are desperate for them, we often find them repelled from us. However, as soon as we don't care as much, or can let them go, they will often materialise more than we may even have imagined. I know this can be confusing if it is a new concept for you, but I can assure you, this is a fundamental key in ensuring our desires are manifested.

My reason for explaining the above, is that by eliminating our initial method of dealing with daily life, by being fearful and concerning ourselves with the thoughts of the worst possible outcomes, we can better manage our outcomes from various situations, We always need to be visualising and expecting the best from any situation, as in most cases, the worst never happens. Further, by focusing on the best outcomes, we better attract the best to us, as well as recognising that we need to eliminate the desperation in our desires. It acts in a similar manner to like poles of a magnet that oppose each other.

There are secrets of thinking to substantially master your desires. It is about the way that you think, and train your mind to solve problems, and face challenges. You can, when you think you can.

How Can I Turn Gratitude to My Advantage? Does it Really Work?

Gratitude is one of the more important emotions we can feel, in terms of enhancing our lives. It is not the only emotion we need to have, to be balanced, well, and healthy. However, I will briefly outline some aspects of gratitude, in terms of the way it can help us, and ways you can use it to your benefit, and that of those around you.

I have found that personal experience is a great way to explain my stories, and this article is no exception. I had been going through a very difficult time in my life, and was feeling very dejected and even though I knew there were ways to move forward, was in one of those mind states where I just felt sorry for myself. Let me tell you, I do not recommend you remain in a state like that for long. It's bad news, does not do anything positive for you, or those around you, and can easily spiral out of control. So, you may well ask, then what? "What can I do if I am in a similar state of mind?" It is a great question, because if you know the answer to that one, you can really start moving ahead.

I have often found that no matter what situation I was in, and the same will apply for you, there will always be something good in your life, for which you can be thankful for. If you've just burst out laughing, because you think this is the biggest joke you have ever heard, given your situation, let's consider a few things. Firstly, you are able to actually

  • Laugh. This is a healing mechanism of the body and is very powerful.
  • The chances are that if you're reading this, you probably either own, or have access to a computer, something that less than twenty percent of the world population have. Naturally, in the USA, the figure is higher, closer to around sixty percent, as at 2009. However, I think you will be able to see my point here.
  • You can read, which again, is a privilege less than half of the world population have, and that places you far ahead, in terms of opportunities available to you.
  • You have a brain, and the ability to train it, given the will, and access to information. Again, with a computer, as above, your chances are looking pretty good.
  • You can look at all the other things you have, which could be your health, or access to medical care, a family, even if if you are suffering from problems.

The above list is by no means exhaustive, but I wanted to give you an idea from which to start looking at all the things you have. It may be as simple as the fact that you had food to eat for breakfast, and are nourished through the day. It may also be something very much bigger. We are all different, and living in different situations. However, understanding these points makes it easier to see all we have, and helps us to show gratitude.

Now, for the real big-cheese point here. Have you ever considered being grateful for what you do not seem to have yet? Yes, I know that may seem like I have really taken a leap into the loopy home, but I am being serious. This is a concept that works. Let me explain.

When you set your mind on a path of a particular goal, or 'thing' that you want, you subconsciously start to reprogram yourself, by working towards, and also, coming into contact with people and circumstances that will help you achieve your desire. This does not mean that you can say, 'Thanks for the great sports car' and then just forget about it, and see it the next day.

I am referring to a slightly more organised approach. If your goal is a sports car, you need to become emotionally attached to it, and be detailed. In other words, imagine the detailed feelings you are having, when you are sitting in the car. Be detailed, and imagine the colour, the style, even the smell of the interior, as well as the feel of the drive. What does it sound like, and how are you feeling about yourself? By being this clear in your imaginative mind, you will be more accurately programming your mind to see opportunities, as well as be more inclined to come into contact with the right people to help you through as well. I know it may all seem 'way out there', but these principles have been proven, time and time again.

To apply this to your situation, then, use the image of your desired gain, which can be a physical thing, or even a position or job, and essentially, any thing else you like. Just be clear in your mind of your desired good, and be grateful, and thankful for it already being given to you. The reason I say you need to imagine you already have it, is that this will change your perspective, and attract the situations to you, as your behaviour will change as well. All of this is very subtle, but has been proven.

I would have to say the best way to prove this, is to do it yourself. You will find yourself much happier, in yourself, as well as outwardly. In many cases, you will end up with more than you even imagined possible. Too many people have applied this principle to their lives, with success, to ignore the principles here. I first read about this concept in The 'Think and Grow Rich" book By Napoleon Hill, and have been applying it in my life ever since.

However, as a caveat, you still need to go out there and be a go getter, and be determined. Mixing that with your grateful feelings, for things you have, as well as the things you will soon have, but feel you have already, will make all the difference.

There are methods of thinking to substantially help you focus, and reach the financial success, you would like to see. It is about the way that you think, and train your mind to solve problems, and face challenges.

Your thinking methods will make all the difference. It is about your mind, and what you can achieve with it.
